Maths: World time Map

Are there differences in the time of day depending on where you are? Could it be 12 o’clock midnight in one country and 12 o’clock at noon in another area of the world at the same time? How do we figure out what time it is in all of these different countries? Why do we have these different time zones?

Today you are going to explore times across the world. You are going find out time zone differences if you were to fly to different countries. The clock on the ipad is pretty awesome to help with this as well.

    Dear Mrs Joyce,
Today in maths I have learnt that when you do pm and am to compare the different hours, it is not the same because is in the afternoon and am is in the morning! It makes even harder if it is a different day and there is pm and am! In my opinion I the that doing that would be very complicating! I can’t wait till I learn more about times because I want to be great at time before I go into high school next year!

What I’ve learnt today is that there’s 24 time zones in the world witch is why there’s 24 hours in a day. Also that every time zone equals 15 degree. Learning more about time zones around the world. I think that using technology helped us to learn because it was great to learn other countries around the world.

I also notist the in amarica right winnow they would be asleep.

I learnt that the earth and moon turn around each other and the sun stays still so when the sun and Australia is facing each other it is day time and when the moon and Australia is facing each other it is night time and that is how different time zone are different so then Australia is 12:00 Kuala Lumpur is 10:00 making it 2 hours less than Australia.

    Hello all,

I am really glad that today we are talking about time. the reason why we have different tike at different parts of the world is as the result of the movement of the planet around the sun. we all know and agree that the planet earth is spherical. and means that is it not going to be possible for all the counties. on it to be able to face the sun at the same time.

As a result of that, countries. which faces the sun will experience day and the others which does not faces it will experience night and this is used to differentiate between the times that we have in the world.

the time difference between Ghana and United. State of America is 4hours
